LTL Shipping Best Practice – Piece-Level Quantities Required

For all LTL shipments, please ensure your shipment details and commercial invoice include piece-level quantities, not just pallet or skid counts.
Best practice is to declare: • Total number of pieces • Total number of pallets • Number of pieces on each pallet (plus weight & dimensions)
Total piece count in addition to pallet count is required for U.S.-bound shipments and strongly recommended for all LTL freight to support compliance, reduce delays, and protect against loss, shortage, and damage claims.
